Pureboost Go -- my constant trainer for years

Anonymous runner · Mar 10, 2020

5/5

Overall

I first got this shoe after having shin issues in the Under Armour Charged Bandit 2, and I love it. While a little pricier than, say, the DPR, they still run MUCH cheaper than the Ultras and about the same as the Boston 8s. For those looking for a pretty bouncy trainer with LOTS of cushion, I would heartily recommend these. They do weigh quite a lot (10.4 oz) but they provide a smooth ride and respond well to tight corners as they're designed for urban running. I'm currently on my 6th pair of these shoes (alternating with the Tempo 8s), and they give me 400-500 miles each. Would absolutely recommend.

Pureboost Go:- Budget Ultraboost!!!

Anonymous runner · Jul 3, 2019

5/5

Overall

Pureboost Go is the new model in the boost midsole lineup with very attractive price and premium materials. TECHNOLOGY USED:- 1) Boost Midsole 2) Knit Upper 3) Stretch Web Outsole SPECIFICATIONS:- 1) Weight:- 295gm (9UK OR 10US) 2)Offset/Drop:-8mm 3)Arch Type:- Normal 4)Closure:-Lace up 5)Width:- Normal 6)Cushion Level:- Moderate 7)Best Use:- Road Running 8)Fit:- True to Size UPPER:- This shoe features a no sew knit upper with which is very soft and without overlays. The upper adapts the foot really well it is not stretchy like prime knit but I found more comfortable than prime knit as it wrapped the foot nicely and provided great support. There is no padding in the tongue and heel has very less padding which will not cause any issue unless one is used to heavy padding in tongue and heel. Heel has a heel plate which is provided to prevent the heel from slipping. Overall the upper provided great fit and support no slipping while taking sharp turns. The upper is very breathable and when I did 8 miles in 46°C (116. 6°F) and upper kept my foot dry. MIDSOLE:- Pureboost Go features boost Midsole. The forefoot is wide to provide stability on uneven surfaces and to keep foot stable while taking sharp turns. I found the boost material plush and softer than the boost material used in solar boost or ultra boost. Adidas have nailed the midsole of this shoe by maintaining perfect balance between softness and responsiveness. One can easily use these shoes for track workout or tempo runs and slow paced long runs as boost midsole is very soft and responsive . It provided pretty smooth ride perfectly balanced ride I must say. OUTSOLE:- The outsole features stretch Web rubber outsole which is standard among all bost models but this time it is ADIWEAR rubber not continental. The stretch Web outsole provides fair amount of flexibility without forcing runner to alter running gait. This outsole did it's job amazingly holding well on wet roads and wet grass. I have put 50 miles in them and outsole shows no sign of wear and tear. SUPPORT:- The shoe has enough support for neutral runners. At heel, heel plate is provided and strategic stitching is provided at the heel and forefoot. RIDE :- This shoe provides perfect mixture of softness and responsiveness. The ride provided by the shoe is very smooth. FLEXIBILITY:- The shoe is fairly flexible, as the outsole uses stretch web outsole which gives more flexibility to the shoe. TRACTION:- The shoe provided really nice traction on road and grass. As these shoes are made for road running taking them on trail will be bad idea. RESPONSIVENESS:- Pureboost Go is very responsive shoe if you want to take them for fast runs they won't slow you down. They will provide the same nimble and smooth ride like new pair even after using them for miles. DURABILITY:- Pureboost Go seems fairly durable after using them for 50 miles upper has no frays sign of wearing down, outsole shows no wear and tear, and boost midsole will hold upto 500 miles easily. FIT AND COMFORT:- Pureboost Go fits true to SIZE. Person with wider feet will not face any problem in these as they have wider forefoot and knit upper which will adapt to the feet. The comfort level is excellent on these shoes comparable to shoes which are 30-40% expensive than Pureboost Go. STYLE:- These shoes are fire if one does not want to run in these and just want to use it for casual or athleisure purpose these will look great. Earlier Pureboost Go was launched in three colours only but Adidas has launched many colourways earlier this year. PRICE:- Price for this pair is 100$. If anyone thinks ultra boost is heavy on their pockets they can go for pureboost go. PROS:- 1)Very Responsive Midsole 2)Plush Cushioning 3)Enough Support for Neutral Runners 4)Fairly Priced CONS:- 1)No Reflective Material 2)Not Enough Padding in Heel BOTTOM LINE:- Pureboost Go is a superb shoe made of high quality materials, fairly priced. Anyone looking for good looking solid daily trainer or cheaper alternative to ultra boost one should go for Pureboost Go without thinking twice.
