The Novablast 3 TR are an excellent option for people who want a shoe to take to light trails that can be used in the road as well. Their only important difference with the road NB3s is the outsole that has lugs of modest length -4mm, making them capable of tackling light trails but nothing too technical or muddy. On the flip side they can be used on the road and would make a great winter shoe.
My only gripe with them is the tongue which is in my opinion a big downgrade from the NB 2s - I assume it's the same as the roads one. It's thin, which is fine not also short which isn't fine. Also, if you're coming from the NB2s the midsole is a bit underwelming - still comfy with some pop, but lacks the responsiveness of the previous model, which was probably the best daily trainer I've ever had.
