perfect, the Clifton 3 clone

Anonymous runner · Jul 2, 2019

5/5

Overall

My favorite shoe of all time was the Clifton 3. I went to the 4 and 5 after the 3 end of lifed, and they in no way resembled the 3 in terms of fit, cushion and softness. Finally found the Napali, and its as good as the 3 if not better.

Hoka One One Napali (Clifton 3.5)

Jaygrainger9 · Feb 13, 2019

5/5

Overall

I have a little over 250 miles in my pair of Napalis so I think it is time to review them. So far they have filled all of my needs as a college distance runner, they are light yet cushioned enough to handle higher mileage (80+ a week), they have been durable so far and show little signs of wear to the outsole rubber, however some of the exposed foam is stating to show a little bit of wear but that does not effect the ride of the shoe. They are also cheaper than the normal Cliftons so that is a plus! I expect to get 500 miles out of my pair. I would definitely recommend them as a high mileage daily trainer.

Napali is Hoka's GOAT

TigerCrunch · Dec 19, 2018

5/5

Overall

The Napali became a RunningWarehouse exclusive and was supposedly a clone to the Clifton 3, well this shoe is BETTER than the Clifton 3. Lighter, cheaper, faster, and cushier than the Clifton 3. It is my absolute favorite Hoka shoe and I hope they continue to keep this version of the Napali. I use it for all my normal runs, long runs, and tempo workouts. Its extremely versatile and its so comfortable you never want to take it off. This shoe deserves more recognition and should IMO be their flagship shoe, not the Clifton. The current Clifton iterations are heavier and more clunky than the previous 3.

Clifton 3 (almost)

Anonymous runner · Oct 2, 2018

4/5

Overall

The Hoka Napali is essentially Hoka's way of bringing back the Clifton 3, but under a new name. The shoe is also at a lower price point (~$100 compared to the $130 of the Clifton 3). With this lower price point comes a decrease in durability, however. The upper has been changed slightly, and the new mesh is more prone to holes and blowouts.

Hoka Napali- keeping it simple

Anonymous runner · Oct 2, 2018

5/5

Overall

Had run all my long runs in Clifton 1, 2, 3 and then the 4 came out and was horrible. Found the Napali and got a pair. Upon initial fit they are exactly like a Clifton 3 with a lighter upper. My first run was a 26.4mi long run at ~6:50 average pace and the shoes were awesome. Tons of cushioning and comfortable for me.
