Overall
Newton Gravity continues to be a reliable and predictable shoe. I find the shoe to be lightweight and upper to be very breatheable and cool. The lug system is pretty well-known by now, and I don’t notice much difference since I started running in Gravity III. Of course the 5th lug is new since then, but I didn’t even notice that changing the ride very much.
I get a ton of miles out of these 500-700 miles from each pair compared to 300 miles out of shoes like Ghost and Pegasus. Every time I buy a paid of Gravity shoes, I think I’ll rotate them with my usual shoes. But before long, I’m running in Gravity every day. — they’re good for long runs, speed runs, garbage runs, any runs. The only disadvantage I can think of is that once they’re done as runners, they don’t work as walkers/lawn shoes.
I run with some overpronation and often run in shoes with a bit of stability. Newton’s don’t offer the traditional stability, but I have no issues with overpronation over 20 miles in these. I don’t notice a difference between Gravity and Motion (the Newton stability model). The shoes do keep me on the forefoot.
