Good all-rounder, but quick wearing

Anonymous runner · Jul 20, 2019

4/5

Overall

A nice fitting, accommodating fast shoe at a good price point without gimmicks. Lightweight. Good tread design, suitable for road and trail (but not the best wet pavement traction). Outsole seems to wear quite fast. It is not a very "sticky" rubber and is fairly thin (a necessary compromise for weight, I suppose). Also the foam loses some snap in high impact areas after about 150 miles or so.

On the line between a light daily trainer and a racing flat. Fits my wide forefoot well. A great value for the money. Similar to the Kinvara but with better traction from the outsole.

Miracle shoe?

Overall

This shoe has great balance between durability, weight, and price. It isn't too narrow. It isn't too wide. Reminds me of Asics DS trainers from 15 years ago -- but better. And at $60-$80 retail you can't beat the price. Lasts for maybe 300-400 miles before getting too firm. Rigid plastic thing in the mid foot gets beaten up on rocky trails, but holds together fine. Laces good and supportive. Super smooth on roads and plenty grippy on mondo track. Trained and ran everything from a 5k to a 50k in them without incident.
