The glow in the dark is neat but I do prefer the normal look of the shoe. Best all arounder I have ever worn. Cushioned enough for long runs. Light enough to pick up the pace. Fast and responsive enough for proper speed work. Would consider racing a marathon in this shoe as a “safe” option. For the price (new $90, can often find for 55-65) it has to be an all time great.

You want a snug fit? You want glow in the dark outer lining? You want strong responsive and incredible durable up to 800+ miles foam that holds your foot snugly? You want an assortment of sleek designs that DON'T look like some random designer in Italy picked the colors? You want resistance to salt, heat, and bad weather? You want speed work? Long run? Tempo? 1k's? This shoe does it all. I could not recommend this shoe more to any of my running friends. Now if they could just get the whole "fat people wear Skechers" idea out of their head. These shoes are serious running shoes and I don't think I will buy anything but these for trainers for the near future.

This is the first shoe that sold me on the Skechers brand. I'll get my two gripes out of the way first. The toebox is, I guess, on the narrow side, as I invariably rub a blister between my big and second toe if I go long enough in them. However, I don't really perceive the forefoot as tight. Second, the foam will squeak at a walking pace, so you won't find this a good shoe for casual use, despite its great comfort.
Those nitpicks aside, I'm a big fan of these shoes. They have a fairly wide platform and great cushioning. I have one foot that underpronates, and most shoes are uncomfortable on that foot. This one feels fine, though I don't know if that is a function of the quantity of the cushion or something else. They have a fairly large stack height, but you don't feel like you're up on stills like in the Zoom Fly/Vaporfly line.
I find them to be good for anything from recovery up to tempo pace, though probably marathon pace to recovery is their optimal range. I haven't run a marathon in them, but they would be a second or third choice behind Vaporflys and, possibly, the Go Run Razor 3 Hyper from Skechers. I ran a 20 mile road race as a tune-up for a marathon this fall and used it as a training run with 10 easy miles followed by 10 of marathon pace - 15 seconds. They were great for both paces.
They can be had for about $70 these days, and though the word on the street is they won't last as long as many shoes, at such a low price, who cares?

Lightweight, Well-Cushioned Neutral Shoe

I'll start with a caveat - I still haven't found my go-to-shoe after years of running (collegiate track & XC, now on the perpetual comeback trail). The GoRun Ride 7 have fallen short of that, for me, and I think I'll go back toward more traditional trainers like the Brooks Ghosts.
But that's just me. In the interest of being objective, I can say this shoe does exactly what it says it does: It's lightweight, bouncy and resilient, well-cushioned, neutral and smooth. The upper is unnoticeable (all I want an upper to be is basically gone) and the tongue/lacing are perfectly adequate.
The shoe has a finished insole underneath the removable insert, which is supposedly a way to deliver two rides in one. It certainly does so, but I found the shoe with the insert removed to be too roomy and hard to get a good fit for me. The ride was definitely firmer but, to me, it felt like it was trying to be something it isn't. Unclear if the shoe would have benefited from a single dedicated insole.
I also have to say that I'm starting to have concerns about durability (specifically outsole wear) after less than a hundred miles. I think the shoe still performs just fine, but I like to vary up my runs with some gravel tracks, fields and trails - I don't think the Ride 7 is great outside of pavement. But it is great on pavement. Smooth and responsive, feather-light, has no problem with easy miles or picking up the pace a bit.
It's a 6mm-drop shoe, which will work for some. I am having trouble using that for all my miles, and will probably move to something that feels more substantial.
For others (possibly many, many others), this will be an excellent shoe. If you're looking for a light, cushioned, neutral trainer for road running and a medium-to-low drop, this will fit the bill. Just be prepared to fend off the "Skechers??" scoffs from other runners and specialty stores. But don't worry - they're legit!

This shoe has been excellent, and really pushed me to reconsider my preconceptions about Skechers. The step-in feel is great - the upper is made of a soft, stretchy knit material that hugs the foot but still offers decent support.
The midsole is extremely cushy but still has a decent pop from the overall stiffness as well as the rockered profile. The outsole has a lot of exposed foam, which made me worry it would break down quickly, but the durability has been excellent, so far (3 months of regular wear).
Overall, the GOrun Ride 7 is a great option if you're looking for a lightweight daily trainer with lots of cushion and nice step-in comfort. The price is also great - a pair can easily be had for less than $100 USD. In more than 20 years of running, it's probably one of the better daily trainers I've ever worn.
