Injury minefield

I ran for a college sponsored by underarmour and the distance running shoes were solid planks of wood called underarmour running shoes. I would have preferred running barefoot if not that we trained on tarmac roads. They were the most uncomfortable running shoes I have ever put on. Dont get me wrong the cushioning is up there and durability is unquestionable but they were first heavy and second NOT RUNNING SHOES. I hated running in them and i told the coach but they made us train in them and a few weeks into the season i got a lower back injury that i know 100% had to do with running in those shoes.
