5/5

Overall

This shoe is probably my favorite shoe. Two things really stick out to me about this shoe. The first is performance. The shoe is light, and cheap. The new balance 101 has very light air upper, not beefy at all. Which is hard to come by in a shoe. Most shoes are either really thick and not breathable. Or they are not durable at all and very light. This shoes straddles the line between those two categories. I also appreciate the high durometer midsole which is hard to find in shoes. Most shoes are very soft. Also this shoe has a loose feel. Most people appreciate a very precise fit, but for most of my running, except for trail the loose shoe increases my enjoyment. The other thing appreciate is the design. This shoe is one of the best designed shoe in terms of look. Most shoes strive to be ostentatious and shout "look at me! I am a running shoe". This shoe rather is understated with black overlays and black mesh with a slightly greenish-white N. The sole is white which is difficult to find in a shoe.
