Overall

This shoe is a straightforward racing flat done well. The shoes are ridiculously light and seem to disappear on your feet. There are no distractions with this shoe. The upper has a locked in “racing fit” which is very secure without sacrificing to much comfort. The upper is a very breathable mesh that works well in many different weather conditions. The cushioning is very light and does a good job of dampening vibrations while maintaining good ground feel. The boost light cushioning feels responsive but does lack the pop that traditional boost has (but is much lighter). Overall it feels firm but protective. The rubber sole is thin but durable and provides good grip on the road or track. Overall this is a great shoe. Feels very natural and smooth to run in. Only negative is that is doesn’t have the energy return of some other shoes. However, I think the low weight makes up for this. I would highly recommend this to someone looking for a lightweight racing flat for workouts/races or someone looking for a shoe with great ground feel that can handle longer distances.

Fast and light. Not as responsive as some of the other boost shoes but feel comfortable and fast in these for speedwork to marathons. Got them on sale for 50% off on Running Warehouse. Steal for this shoe.

Overall

Picked these up on clearance hoping they may be useful for a marathon. After a hilly 15 miler with 10 at tempo and a half marathon, they just aren't as cushioned as I'd hope they would be. The upper is nice and with the full rubber sole I expect they will last a while. However, the midsole, while light, feels very harsh after a while. I'll admit that I was never a fan of the Boost shoes. Having worn them for a few 4-5 mile demo runs, they always start great but I end up with dead legs (their purported energy return and I are just not on the same wavelength). These seem to have toned down that feeling too much to the point they are pretty dead. I don't think they were a hindrance in my half, but the Saucony Type A6 is much more comfortable at half the price. While Adidas always seems to do a great job with the uppers on their racing flats (had the Takumi Sen previously), they really seemed to miss the mark on this one with trying to compete with Nike. I'll continue to wear them for shorter workouts and maybe some races.

OPINION ON ADIZERO

I absolutely love the Adizero as a long-distance racing shoe. It doesn't have a lot of cushioning so if you're running long regularly, it's probably a better idea to get a shoe with more support and to save the Adizero for track workouts (when you're not using spikes) and road running. Overall fantastic, but probably not enough cushioning to be your only shoe if you're doing a lot of mileage.

Good all-around shoe, but not a marathon racer

I guess it's because I'm not an an elite, but the Sub-2 doesn't really feel like a marathon racer. It's more of a good all around shoe for those of us who like to train in light weight shoes. It's comfortable at slow paces, but also feels nice and bouncy at faster stuff. I really liked it on the hill workout I did this morning - the workout was a hard ~2 minute run up the hill, jog a minute, then a ~35 second downhill stride before jogging another minute. The shoe had very nice bounce uphill, and cushioned well on the downhill. The shoe also had excellent traction on wet concrete. At the same time, it's not the replacement for the Adios 2 or Takumi Sen that I had hoped. The shoe is just a bit too flexible. It has bounce, but not that firm return I associate with those shoes. If you like a very very stiff shoe, this may not be for you. If you preferred the Adios 3 Boost to the Adios 2 Boost, then you'll really like this shoe. I intend to wear this shoe in some road miles and 5Ks this summer - I think it will work well for those. For the half-marathon and up, I think I like the Vaporfly much better.
