Gobi V2, a good shoe

Overall

I just hit 300 miles, and after a small bedding in period, i've enjoyed every mile (minus the overly muddy ones) I've ran in these shoes. Grip is great for general all-round trail running. Gravel, dry dirt, anything mushy essentially, just avoid the deep mud, the grip doesn't go that far. I was disappointed with the appearance of the shoes, they don't look the same as shown on the NB website. Thee is a bright green underlayer beneath a blue top mesh layer, but in reality the top layer is stretched so thin all you really see is the bright yellowy-green, which isn't that nice! So, 300 miles in and we're losing the grip, but for the variety of surfaces i run on, that's pretty acceptable, most grip goes around 2-250. Comfort is excellent, the toe box is medium width, but the soft materials mean you have some toe spread when running. The cushioning is about average, fine for long trail runs, but not quite ultra-plush. The fit is about average too, the soft materials meant i didn't get a total locked in feel, but at the same time, my foot wasn't moving around, so it is obviously adequate. All in, i really liked these shoes. Good allround grip, fairly lightweight (250g for a size 44) and they feel speedy. New colourways for 2018 offer more promise too!
