Saucony Guide - a great solid training shoe

Anonymous runner · Jan 20, 2020

5/5

Overall

Initially when I got the Saucony guide, I intended them for my easy runs. I found the shoe took a good 2-3 weeks to break in but once it did, I find it so comfortable and true to description. I think it encourages good running form in me in comparison to others I have tried. A great training shoe - I would definitely recommend! Well done Saucony!

Comfortable for all shapes and sizes

Overall

The Saucony Guide is a great shoe. It fits comfortably to the foot. The show is a mid-level stability shoe and is great for long runs. I have used the shoe to pace marathons. The difficulty with most Saucony shoes is that runners who tend to supinate will tear up the outer toe box fairly quickly, however this has not been the case with the Guide.

I left Saucony once but now I'm Back

Anonymous runner · Jan 11, 2020

4/5

Overall

I recently bought these shoes after I started forming blisters from overpronation. I used to have a pair of the Guide 10 which were comfortable but didn't feel the fit was the best around my feet. First of all the shoes are rather comfortable and I have ran 10 miles in them and love the support they provide. Regarding appearance, Saucony nailed it as I think these are some of the best looking running shoes out there. My only gripe with them is the grip during the run which feels like it could be improved. I normally wear a 12.5 but decided to go with a size 12 and I still feel my feet move a little inside the shoe. Saucony should have probably made the shoe more narrow but it's great overall. I have been logging about 40 miles a week and the shoes are hanging in there.

A Touch of Stability

Anonymous runner · Jan 10, 2020

5/5

Overall

I've worn the previous two Saucony Guides and they were okay. I heard Saucony was unveiling a new foam and was using some in the Guide so I figured i'd give that a try. So far so good. The overall fit of the shoe feels much nicer. Not as rigid and forced as the previous iterations. The cushion is still a little firm, but does soften up as your break them in. It's a shoe firm enough and light enough that I can use on progression runs, long tempos and fartleks but still feel comfortable wearing them for 13+ miles. No real comments on durability has I've only had them for ~100 miles thus far and I typically don't wear out shoes easily.
