I had three pairs of the original gel lyte33 before trying out other shoes. I was more than happy to grab another pair of them. They are light shoes with a smooth ride and a surprising amount of cushion.

Good shoe for fast running. The GEL-Lyte 33 2 seemed to have better cushioning which I think I preferred for more daily training.

in the last 5 years i've tried a lot of shoes, i like the ds trainers for a while, but there were a little narrow, heavy and i didn't love the post. I ran in speedstars for about 3 yrs. but i hated the heel height and width, it just didn't seem to match the forefoot as well as it could have. The lyte 33's from the start have been awesome. They don't last real long but i still get a solid 350-400 miles out of a pair. I love that they are flexible, light, and and when you tie them they offer pleny of midfoot support. The first generation was good. The second generation was terrible, the upper was stretchy and loose and it felt like i had crappy sponges tied to the bottom of my feet. I have the newest generation which i have no complaints about and they seem to hold up better than the first generation did. Also, with a slightly lower cost than a lot of other shoes, i can live with a little less durability.
