Good alternative to the Saucony Guide

Anonymous runner · Jul 24, 2018

4/5

Overall

I've had two pairs of these shoes and have generally been happy. They are not overly cushioned, but they are perfectly comfortable, and I wanted something with less cushion. I ran in the Saucony Guide series for years, but those have become more and more over-stuffed, until finally, with the last model, I felt like the cushion was actively crowding my arch; the Ravenna feels like what I remember the Guide feeling like 4-5 years ago. I do wish they looked slightly more interesting, though. One pair looked like a housefly, and the other is flat gray.

Solid Shoe

stwrnn · Jul 14, 2018

Overall

Durable shoe. Fairly rigid and seems like it can take a while to break in, but that makes it hold up to the miles. Would recommend for people who are looking for a support shoe that isn't quite as bulky as some of the higher priced ones.

Shoe is good for your in between days. 4-7 miles at easy to moderate paces. Never allowed or encouraged faster running on a progression run. When my legs were beat up, the shoe seemed too stiff.

Solid But Nothing Spectacular

Cromeromes · Apr 14, 2018

4/5

Overall

Decent daily trainer that lasted about as long as most of my shoes. A little narrow in the toe box and a little stiff but nothing too bad. A solid option for moderate overpronators, but I had less random aches and pains in my feet and lower legs in the Saucony Guide 10.
