Can one shoe really change a life? Yes!
I am a walker who has suffered from planar fasciitis and knee injuries. My Physical therapist helped me learn to walk with a more active foot strike rather than put me in orthotics as most physical therapists do with people of my age. I tried another brand but they were less than durable and was suffering with a more traditional shoe in the interim. I tried my first pair of Skora at a run in Vancouver (Aug 2014) and INSTANTLY felt my gait change to the proscribed one, with my hips opening, my knees soft and my entire foot engaged. I was also to maintain this posture for longer periods of time.
I went home and ordered a pair and have not looked back since. I am trying to lose 50lbs so I am not your average runner, just a middle aged woman trying to gain her health back. I am now training for a half marathon (walking) and my Skoras are helping me get to my goal by eliminating the pain I was suffering in my feet and knees. Now I am just sore, but in a good way from getting the miles in. I am up to 7 miles now in my walks and my feet feel fine. So good, that I now own 4 pairs of Skoras, 3 of one mode l and I am trying another for lesser distances.
I have also received great advice from their online chat line as well as great information and support from their FB group. My goal is not just to lose the weight and walk a half marathon anymore. I want to actually run a 10k from start to finish. Now that my pain is resolved I know I can do it and all because I thought the colors were cool on the shoe when I saw it. Thank you Skora!
