Nike Pegasus TURBO (ZoomX pegasus)

Anonymous runner · Jul 22, 2018

5/5

Overall

I have been partaking in a 2018 NDO ( No Days Off) running challange. Started the year with the Hoka Clifton 3, then the Skechers Go Run Ride 7 (current favorite shoe), and then just got the Nike Peg Turbo on the 8/2 Nike App members release. I got them for 20 below retail (MSRP 180) with a 20 dollars off coupon I had, with free overnight shipping. First run in them was today (7/22/2018) and it was a 10 mile easy run, all rolling hills, no real flat at any point. I will be comparing the shoe mostly to the Skechers GRR7, Hoka Clifton, and Nike ZF. I have not tried on the VF4% so cant compare. The shoes have a wider than normal nike toe box, Ive worn 14 in nike models in the past, but opted to get the 13 and it fit perfectly. The racing stripe on the top of the shoe didnt rub any hot spots at all (I wore pretty thin Feetures running socks). Laces with flywire and flymesh was a very secure fit, no rubbing or loose portions of the upper and didnt have to cinch down the laces to get a locked down fit. Fit feels better than the ZF, Clifton, about on par with the Skechers GO run Ride 7. Peg Turbo has a more accommodating forefoot than all three. Shoes ran like a charm, hit even splits of 6:45/mile for the full run. Shoe is definitely light, I would run 10mi+ race distances in them. They have what I guess is an more race oriented (or just faster paced running) geometry and I felt lifted onto my toes throughout the entire run (even though im already not much a heel striker). Shoe feels better to run in the ZF, and Clifton. Pretty similar to the Skechers, but more stable in the mid foot. The skechers has a more plump feeling with more noticeable rebound with each step though. Really the only downside of the shoe is the availability and the price. If you're on a budget I would recommend the skechers go run ride 7 to be honest however.
