Nike Streakfly, good modern tech in affordable shoe

Scott Davis · Dec 4, 2023

5/5

Overall

For years I have wanted a shoe that is in between a fast racer (something to take on a track 3000m but not a spike) and a marathon shoe (aka lightweight trainer). Now finally I have the Nike Streakfly. It even says right on the shoe “5k/10k”. I have worn it for fast 200s (30s) and a 10 mile road race (58:11). And everything in between. It holds up! No carbon tech but I don’t mind that, I cannot fathom paying $300 for a shoe anyways. Got these for only $100 on Nike website. They should last about 300 miles. Will be buying another pair when time comes.

Fun Niche Shoe-Great if you can find it discounted

Anonymous runner · Nov 24, 2023

4/5

Overall

I found this shoe heavily discounted at Ross. I've put about 100 miles on it and would estimate I'll get another 100 miles.  The two best uses for the Streakfly are as a road racer under the HM distance or for fast training sessions outside of spikes. This shoe is "bouncy" and does not corner well in road races. Lock down is also not great. I did get an 8K PR in the Streakfly and enjoy longer-fast track intervals in the shoe but it's not a marathon shoe and its not going to replace your Next% for racing any distance. Overall its a niche in your shoe rotation and fun to own at the right price.

Great lightweight shoe for intervals and sprinting

Anonymous runner · Nov 23, 2023

5/5

Overall

Love these for interval and pure sprinting sessions when I don't want to use spikes. They feel great running on grass and last a lot longer that way, road running beats them up pretty quick. Great value if you get them on sale, kind of expensive and maybe not worth it at full price ($160), I paid like $80 - 120 for each pair.
