Best Nike option for track workouts

BrainCelll · Nov 17, 2023

4/5

Overall

Following the disappearance of the Pegasus Turbo's, this has been my go-to for track workouts for the past few years

- First run in them can be a bit unstable for the ankle until the inner gets the imprint of your foot
- Because of the soft underside like the Next%'s, if you use them off of the track they will get pulled apart by small stones
- Not suitable for road workouts really, got plantar-f quite bad from how un-protective/unsupportive they were on road

+ light enough for track workouts
+ low-profile enough for track workouts
+ not a true carbon-plated shoe
+ if looked after (kept on track), they can last a long time

I'm a lifelong Nike customer so these have been the best option, much better than the Pegasus Turbo Nature's, if you are looking for a light, non-carbon plated workout shoe

Nike Streakfly

Brandon Mundorf · Oct 30, 2023

4/5

Overall

I used this as an indoor workout shoe as a Miler that trained on a 160-meter flat indoor track. The cushion was great, held up calves nicely, and helped save legs. However, durability was not that great, as they got torn up quickly, and the shoes only lasted one season.

Comfortable extremely quick shoe

Isaac 800m guy · Sep 22, 2023

5/5

Overall

The streakfly is without a doubt the most comfortable shoe I have ever run in; the ZoomX feels much softer than the other race oriented Nike ZoomX shoes, namely the Vaporfly. If you are looking for a shoe to race in, go with a pair of spikes or carbon plated shoes, but if you are looking for a fast training shoe to do tempo + track workouts in, you won't find a better shoe than the streakfly. They feel like spikes during track workouts and cushioned trainers during more time-consuming runs. The only downside is the durability. If price is not an issue for you, this is quite possibly the best overall shoe on the market right now. However, if money does present an issue, you might want to look for a more durable shoe. If I may give a recommendation in that case, the Vaporfly will give you ~4 times more miles and is less than double the price.

Great for speed work and short distance road

Don’t expect to be able to do runs over 7 mi in these . Aesthetic could be a little more modest . Could be grippier . Heel base should be widened for more stability . Improved cushioning over previous streak models .

Great shoe for workouts and short races, some flaws

Anonymous runner · Sep 18, 2023

4/5

Overall

Originally bought these because my facility didn’t allow us to wear spikes during indoor track. they feel light and snappy with the zoomX foam. Great for longer track intervals. Definitely not the most durable shoe and the laces are not very quality. Overall glad I bought these but Nike could have made them way better.
