How it ranks
The Saucony Grid Type A6 is one of the strongest racing shoes in our data. Value and looks are its strongest sub-ratings. Durability scores well below its other sub-ratings. The rating is based on 18 runner reviews and 2 other rated shoes in the Grid Type product line.
Confidence
How settled the rating is against every other rated shoe. A shoe can rate high on confidence with relatively few reviews of its own when its product line has a long record and external ratings from retailer sites agree. Confidence is low when we have few ratings or when runners disagree.

Based on
The bars show roughly how much each source contributes to this shoe’s rating. Their influence depends on how many reviews we’ve collected, how many earlier versions are in the product line, and the external ratings available.
“The firm sole, while less cushiony than most shoes, is plenty cushiony, and seems to last forever, rather than compressing and collapsing.”
“There is enough cushion to protect my feet, but it is minimal enough so I have a good feel with the road.”
“It will last over 1000 miles for me (the faster track stuff rips the upper).”
“Got on so well with them that I recently ran a half in them without too much trouble (although sore and blistered afterwards).”
“The ride is extremely smooth, and it fits perfect on my feet.”
“Probably not the best shoe for running over 10 miles, I started getting medial hamstring tightness after that.”
“I tend to break through the upper well before the shoe is worn out.”
“I have a narrow foot and this shoe fits and wears very comfortable.”
“Lightweight, removable insoles, still plenty cushioning if you like the minimalist feel.”
“Fit well, feel fast, just enough cushioning.”
“I actually prefer the feel of the shoe after it has about 200 miles on it.”
“Incredibly lightweight and responsive.”
“Feet get very sore and tired after that.”
“They let more water in than out.”
“Wish it was 0mm (regarding the 4mm drop).”
