External retailer ratings

We break apart ratings from mass-market retailers and specialty running shops since they serve different audiences.

The middle of the bar marks the typical shoe at each type of retailer. The dot shows where this shoe ranks in comparison.

Based on

The bars show roughly how much each source contributes to this shoe’s rating. Their influence depends on how many reviews we’ve collected, how many earlier versions are in the product line, and the external ratings available.

Pros

  • Comfort and cushioning both average 4.7 out of 5 across twelve reviews.
  • Two reviewers call it light for a stability shoe, one of them the lightest they own.
  • One reviewer with wide feet says it does not rip at the sides the way their other shoes do.

Cons

  • One reviewer gets 450 to 500 miles before the outsole wears and it loses cushion, and says it dries slowly after wet runs.
  • That reviewer finds it flat at significantly faster paces.
  • Two of the seven reviewers who answered report an injury while running in it.

A stability shoe that's surprisingly light

4/5

Overall

All my other stability shoes are heavy, and let's say, not the best looking. Enter the Saucony Guide 16. Light blue and surprisingly light. Obviously not as light as shoes designed for speed, but as a stability shoe, these are the lightest in my collection.

A very comfortable ride and would recommend to all stability runners! These cost around £130, if you want a cheaper alternative, check out the Guide 15 (There's not much in it).

I had to size up to a 12, normally I'm a 11 in Nikes.
