Great shoes, lightweight

Anonymous runner · Nov 18, 2024

5/5

Overall

The Brooks Hyperion Tempo is a standout shoe that perfectly balances speed and comfort for runners looking to improve their performance. Right out of the box, the sleek design and lightweight feel are impressive. The shoe features a breathable upper that keeps my feet cool, even on longer runs, while the snug fit provides a secure feel without any discomfort.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the Hyperion Tempo is its cushioning. The DNA FLASH midsole delivers excellent responsiveness. Whether I’m doing tempo workouts or just running at a comfortable pace, I can feel a nice energy return with each stride. The shoe feels particularly agile during faster intervals, making it a great choice for both training and race day.
Additionally, the outsole provides good traction, handling various surfaces well. I’ve worn them on both road and light trails, and they performed admirably in both settings. While they might not be the most robust shoe for heavy mileage, they’re perfect for speedwork or shorter races.
Overall, the Brooks Hyperion Tempo has become one of my go-to choices for workouts. If you're looking for a lightweight shoe that doesn’t compromise on comfort or performance, I highly recommend giving these a try!

The Shoe That Out Runs Others

Anonymous runner · Jun 21, 2024

5/5

Overall

The brooks Hyperion tempo are an overall great shoe for any runner. I think they’re great for anything from the track to trails to even half marathons. The shoe is very light weight making it easy for runners to have a faster turnover of their stride. The multiple designs and colors of the shoe are great for finding a fun way to enjoy running with shoes that are your style but also comfortable. The only weakness this shoe has is that it might need to be changed out a little earlier than a different running shoe depending on how much you run. Since they’re so light weight, the sole is a lot thinner making it wear out faster. What I like about this shoe is that it isn’t very expensive like other running shoes. The most I’ve ever paid for a pair of brooks Hyperion tempos have never been over $75.00. For that price the shoes are very durable, comfortable, and fashionable. There’s really not much that I don’t like about these shoes. I have been wearing them for as long as I can remember and I have never had any problems with them. I can compare to other running shoes by saying that they are the best distance shoe to run in. Other shoes that I’ve tried either have way to much cushioning in them or have ok little. The Hyperion tempos have to right amount of cushioning that’s not too little or too much.

Great versatile shoe for a great price!

Overall

The Hyperion tempo is a great shoe for the price (I paid $100), especially for shorter tempo runs, intervals on road or track, and is pretty decent for some races. I raced a half marathon and 15 different 5ks in this shoe, before moving it to training-only. I used it for 2 training runs per week on average. My foot is just a little bit narrow and it fits perfectly with tight lacing, but it should fit a range of widths depending on how you lace it. It doesn’t offer too much energy return, but its light weight makes it fast with just the right amount of cushioning for tempos and speed work. I have also run a few 10 mile training runs in this shoe and the cushioning still feels perfect by the end. This shoe is very comfortable and feels sturdy enough. My only complaint would be the laces, which feel a little thin and too stretchy. You may want to replace them with stiffer laces for the best experience.
