Confidence

How settled the rating is against every other rated shoe. A shoe can rate high on confidence with relatively few reviews of its own when its product line has a long record and external ratings from retailer sites agree. Confidence is low when we have few ratings or when runners disagree.

Pros

  • Both reviewers value the stability, and one uses it for overpronation.
  • One reviewer prefers this traditional New Balance build to Fresh Foam, and has run in the style for decades.

Cons

  • Averaging 12.4 oz across the men's and women's builds, it is far heavier than the 8.9 oz median for daily trainers for sale.
  • One reviewer reports the sock liner pilling inside the heel, and the tongue sliding off to the side.

good stability training shoe

4/5

Overall

i've been using this style of shoe, all from NB, since i was a teenager decades ago. not a big fan of the fresh foam and other shoe configurations NB has out these days. as long as NB keeps making stability training shoes like this i'll stick with NB forever. NB for life.

I have liked the 1340 - it's a great stability shoe for my over-pronation. I have only 2 minor complaints: - The sock liner is pilling inside the heel - The tongue of the shoe slides off to the side Neither of these is a major problem - overall I've liked it.
