Pros

  • Eight reviewers call it light and responsive, and use it for tempo work and faster runs.
  • Four reviewers find the toe box roomy.
  • Value averages 4.4 out of 5 across seventeen reviews, and one reviewer finds pairs for about $50.

Cons

  • Durability averages 3.8 out of 5, and three reviewers say the outsole or toe box wears quickly.
  • Two reviewers find the heel collar low, one fighting heel slip unless the laces are at maximum.

Great Fast Shoe

5/5

Overall

Love the Vazee Pace v2 for my faster runs and for shorter (up to 10k) races. They're super lightweight and responsive. The wide toe box is quite comfortable, but they are a little low cut, which might bother some runners.

Solid up tempo shoe for quicker runners

4/5

Overall

The Vazee pace is a nice addition to your shoe closet. While it maintains a firm ride, it gives an extremely responsive feel that makes any run feel like a quick one. I train in this shoe during every run (I run 3-4 times a week), though for a runner training at higher intensity/mileage, this shoe may work better as a tempo/fartlek day shoe. It fits wider in the toe box and narrower in the heel. The only complaint I have is that the shoe relatively lacks durability mileage wise. Verdict: great shoe to mix in your tool belt alongside a long-run trainer and flats/spike for track/road workouts. I do not fully recommend as a daily trainer for those running higher mileage.

Just another classic New Balance shoe. Held up pretty well on the roads as well as trails. Comfortable and looked cool.

Not as advertised

3/5

Overall

NB pitches these as an up-tempo shoe, but I don't find them to fit that bill (actually the Zante feels more like how the Vazee is described). They feel somewhat flat and unresponsive, more "slap" than "pop" on footstrike. I don't dislike them as an easy day shoe, and they're actually pretty good on mild trails since the midsole is pretty stiff and stable. Not a bad shoe, but I wouldn't run a marathon in them.

NB Vazee Pace v2

4/5

Overall

This shoe is good if you like a more responsive shoe with a bit less cushioning and a stiffer sole plate. I haven't had any injury or comfort issues with this shoe, and I reached about 520 miles on it.
