On Cloud Monster

5/5

Overall

I had worn Cloud Stratus for a couple of pairs prior to moving to the Cloud Monster and I was very happy. Honestly think that in a world of increased heights and super shoe tech, I think the On shoes feel closer to the shoes I grew up with.

What I've been wearing are not super shoes per se, but if you want to change to a new brand or style of shoe, you could do a lot worse than the on suite of shoes.

Cloudmonster Review

4/5

Overall

This is a unique shoe, and one of my all time favorites.   I’ve mostly been a Pegasus guy my running life, and have also worn some puma recently and Hoka Clifton and others in the past.

this is a responsive, light, comfortable, and fun show to run in. The cushion + speedboard in it lead to a playful and fun mix that isn’t like anything I’ve used before.

This Is A Great "Big Man" Shoe

5/5

Overall

I run at about 280 lbs and destroy shoes. Since Mizuno stopped the wave creation I have not been able to get more than 125-150 miles out of any shoe. I am in the CloudMonster right now and they look great at 100 miles.

The cushioning is good without feeling to squishy or unstable. They feel less firm than the Bondi X I am also running in but they seem to last lionger.

The price point is high but, if I get 50% more life they are actually less than a comparable shoe. Loving these so far.

The Best Long Run Shoe

4/5

Overall

This shoe, despite its high stack, is not a max cushion shoe by any means. The speedboard gives it a certain degree of stiffness that offsets all the stack, making it feel like an underwhelming shoe to some people. However, I found that, in combination with the strong rocker, this shoe functioned as a great daily trainer that especially excelled at picking up the pace. I had no problems doing tempo workouts in these shoes, and these are still to date my favorite long run shoes because of how comfortable they feel at the beginning of a long run but how well they’re able to support faster paces. They almost feel like a supershoe with the strong rocker and plate, but instead of some insane energy return it just disappears on your foot, a great feeling when you’re 10 miles deep in a progressive long run. The downsides of this shoe, apart from its unique feel, is it’s price point. While I greatly enjoyed the shoe, I also know that there are equally as good options on the market that are not 170, especially for a daily trainer that I’ll wear out fairly quickly. Overall it’s a great shoe at a not so great price, but it’s feel is  definitely something unique.

When Comfort is Important, Wear This Shoe.

5/5

Overall

My last pair of shoes was a Brooks Glycerine.  I liked those because they felt firm and light.  When I was about to get a new pair, my son told me to try the On Cloudmonsters.  He's on his second pair and absolutely loves them.  I did and right away I could feel the difference.  Although they don't feel as firm as the Brooks, they are stable.  But the major difference is that they feel like I'm running on clouds.  My feet don't hurt, and my legs feel less inclined to soreness.  I love the way they bounce back after hitting the ground.  They truly make my running experience more enjoyable.
