Overall

This shoe works for me. I'm on my 5th pair since switching from the Kayano. It gives me a good combination of cushioning and stability. It has a wide toe box, and it is flexible enough for running fast or slow. I have a high arch and it handles that. The upper & outsole are durable, but I crush the midsole after about 300 miles. I don't rate this shoe highly because I've had many other shoes that had better cushioning, better fit, or better durability. As I'm sure you know, shoe manufacturers have a bad habit of "upgrading" their products and ruin in them. I've had a dozen or more fave shoe models over the years made by all the big names, and they have all suffered this fate.

Overall

My previous shoes (actually still in rotation) were the GT-2000 1. I find that the GT-2000 2 feels a bit less cushioned and "springier" than the GT-2000 1, which I definitely like. However, the first few weeks I got blisters on the medial side of my second toe and the lateral side of my third toe on my right foot (in areas that protrude beyond my other toes), which never happened with the GT-2000 1. I'm hesitant to blame this on the shoe, because my training (and I suspect my stride as well) changed around the time I bought the new shoes. At any rate, that problem has resolved; I've run about 160 miles in the new shoes so far, so I guess that's enough to produce a relatively good experience impression. Apart from the truly hideous range of color combinations in which the shoe is offered, I don't really have any complaints. I'd say I'd be willing to give a more detailed review for the LetsRun audience, but I suspect that my opinion would not be valued overall....see my running info below, lol!
