How it ranks
The ASICS GEL-Nimbus 25 is one of the strongest daily trainers in our data. Comfort and cushioning are its strongest sub-ratings. Looks scores well below its other sub-ratings. The rating is based on 88 runner reviews and 13 other rated shoes in the GEL-Nimbus product line.
Confidence
How settled the rating is against every other rated shoe. A shoe can rate high on confidence with relatively few reviews of its own when its product line has a long record and external ratings from retailer sites agree. Confidence is low when we have few ratings or when runners disagree.

External retailer ratings
We break apart ratings from mass-market retailers and specialty running shops since they serve different audiences.
The middle of the bar marks the typical shoe at each type of retailer. The dot shows where this shoe ranks in comparison.
Based on
The bars show roughly how much each source contributes to this shoe’s rating. Their influence depends on how many reviews we’ve collected, how many earlier versions are in the product line, and the external ratings available.

“This shoe has a higher heel so it prevents a hard heel strike which aggravates my IT band.”
“It feels like my feet aren't there, truly a cloud-like experience.”
“It's a shoe that I completely forget about when I'm running in it.”
“Has definitely been the longest lasting shoes I've ever owned.”
“They are definitely a recovery or easy run shoe and probably would not do well with any speed work.”
“Switched to this shoe and upped my mileage and have been relatively injury free.”
“Features generous cushioning and solid durability in terms of life of the trainer.”
“The max cushioning makes running feel very bouncy and comfortable.”
“The cushioning isn't great so I feel the impact more than other shoes.”
“The most cushioned shoes I have ever run in.”
“The tradeoff for comfort here is stability.”
“This shoe is so much better than previous versions—it has the good things most like about Hoka but not as stiff and rigid.”
“I like the shoes a little looser in the front which with the new lacing this is impossible.”
“A bit heavy but I prefer to train with heavy shoes and race with lighter ones.”
“Would not recommend for speed or runs that need technical ability.”
“Little bit of a pop from the shoe during the first 300 miles.”
“Turning is difficult.”

Have worm Nimbus for many years. My complaints are that they are too bulky. Very wide soles. Felt like snowshoes. I also did not like the new lacing. I like the shoes a little looser in the front which with the new lacing this is impossible.
