All-around good mid-level cushioning shoe

4/5

Overall

Last year's model Brooks can often be had for a good discount, so I picked up a couple of pairs of Ghost's for $70. They are not the lightest, cushiest, flashiest, fastest, etc. but just an all around good shoe. Comfort and value I found to be better than most and really only durability seemed to be maybe a little below average. For longer and easier runs they are a good choice.

Great for Everyday Training

4/5

Overall

The ghost 10 is my go to mileage shoe. has great comfort, can handle itself on all surfaces though prospers on the road where I do most miles and while not optimal for speed work can be used well enough for your tempo and other up pace runs in the base training season. Biggest problem is durability for me but I tend to run my shoes well past the 300-500 mile recommended limit. In my experience it begins to fall apart around that time with small tears. Not recommended for speed work but the ideal long run shoe.

Ran in it for a year, works pretty well. Was amazing when I first put on, I've done about 300 miles in total, but now I've grown out of it.

Not for me

3/5

Overall

I bought the Brooks Ghost 10 because I really liked the pair of Ghost 9s I had while training for a half marathon. The upgraded version doesn't feel right for me though. They feel less minimalist and they push up on my arches making them ache after runs sometimes. My lower calves have also been really tight and the inside of my ankles hurt sometimes as well. It's possible it has nothing to do with the shoes, but I really think they play a role in the aches and pains I've been feeling in my feet and lower legs. I miss the older version.

Overall

As someone who has had 10 stress fractures and numerous Achilles procedures, I have never had a major issue since wearing this shoe. I wish it was a little more durable as I start tearing holes in the upper within a couple months, but overall this shor has worked for me for everything from sprint workouts to long trail runs.
