It feels like a Mizuno

tmason6 · Jan 12, 2018

5/5

Overall

Mizuno has done a great job on it's latest version of the Wave Enigma. Plusher than the wave rider but it still gives that firm ride that one comes to expect from a Mizuno shoe. Since the last time I wore the shoe (Wave Enigma 2) they've widen the shoe slightly in the toe box by adding the open mesh and eliminating some of the restrictive overlays that used to be there. This is great since that model was way to narrow to begin with. The shoe will work for anyone looking for a firmer shoe, a narrower version of the Glycerin which tends to run a little wide or needs a shoe with some corrective properties without a posting (in my experience the wave plates in Mizuno shoes have a tendency to correct when there is 'slight' over pronation). Mizuno shoes aren't for everyone so this could get some tough reviews but Mizuno is right within their wheel house with this shoe. I wouldn't be surprised if the vast majority of positive reviews came from people who have worn Adidas shoes or Mizuno shoes in the past and I'd expect negative reviews from people who are fans of Saucony/Hoka.
