Gets it done and hard to beat the price

4/5

Overall

I got these shoes on Amazon for $38, and have put about 85 miles on them so far. The puma grip outsole is excellent, and the shoe is comfortable and just enough cushion for me. I like firmer shoes and am not much of a max-cushion guy so these are in the sweet spot. The one thing I don't love is the tongue, it feels a bit plasticky when I tighten the laces, but the upper overall is quite comfortable. Absolute steal of a deal and I anticipate putting 400+ miles on these.

Incredible shoe for easy miles - comfort, grip, and reliability

5/5

Overall

The puma velocity nitro 2's are now by go to shoe for easy miles. They fit like a glove, feel super smooth for easy miles, and have a great grip for slippery days as well. I am a big fan of these shoes as they feel light and comfortable. I would classify them as leaning toward firm on a soft to firm scale, but pretty much in the middle.

For extra context, most of my easy runs are zone 2, anywhere from 5-10 miles, between 7:45 and 8:30 pace. These shoes just work for me...they feel great and look great.

Great value trainer

5/5

Overall

Bought the nitro because I had never run in Pumas before and I was curious to try them out. The lower price tag in comparison to other daily trainers helped as well. I've put around 150 miles on them and so far they are very enjoyable to run in. They fit nicely to the foot, feel lightweight, and perform well when picking up the pace. The only thing I would knock them for is not having a ton of cushion, although the shoe really isn't supposed to be a super cushioned daily, rather a lighter daily/workout shoe. Excited to try out more pumas in the future!

Great do-it-all daily trainer

5/5

Overall

The original Puma Velocity Nitro was great except for a bit of a sloppy fit, especially in the heel. Puma fixed this on the Velocity Nitro 2, making the somewhat snug fit better for days when you want to pick up the pace or even hit the track. There is still enough cushioning for all of your daily miles, but not so much that it will get in the way of quicker paces. If you can only have one shoe in your shoe quiver or you just want that one sort of default shoe that you can always rely on, the Puma Velocity Nitro 2 will be a perfect fit (pun intended).
