Great Value

Overall

I used to buy $100-120 shoes. Once, in a pinch, I bought a pair of these shoes for $35 and now they are all that I will buy. Before I could only put about 300-400 miles on a pair of shoes, but in these I normally log about 700 miles before needing a new pair. They are extremely durable, made of rather hard rubber that takes a long time to wear down. Granted, these shoes may not be for everyone since many people need more cushioning to avoid injury.

Works Well Enough

Overall

This shoe doesn't aggravate the 7 problems I have with my left foot. It fits well and accommodates the Powerstep insole I need to not reinjure my posterior tibialis tendon. I know it's kind of a lightweight shoe but I'm a low-mileage masters track runner.

Asics Gen Contend 4 are amazing except for the insole durability

did · Jul 12, 2018

5/5

Overall

These shoes are great - comfortable, stylish, affordable - except that the insole wears out prematurely compared to the rest of the shoe. The insole wears out in the lateral forefoot where my foot strikes - it may be due to my form but the outsole shows no signs of similar wear. For $50 I can't complain.

Not great

I picked up these shoes in a pinch and they aren't great. They feel heavy and it feels hard when I hit the pavement. Durable though, and no injuries.
