4/5

Overall

I ran in the Gel-Foundation 10s for 4 years, throughout high school. I think initially they were the Gel-Foundation 9s but they changed to 10s. For the first couple years I liked them a lot. They were motion control shoes which is what I was told I should wear in 8th grade. Despite being called a stability guy by Road Runner Sports twice, I stuck with these motion control shoes. Junior and Senior year I frequently got shin splints (and rested, improving my legs) but after senior year I ended up with chronic shin splints that persisted after 16 months off running. I know it was a combination of factors, but I'm wondering if running in motion control shoes was a primary reason in destroying my legs. Also, my fault: Ran 70+ MPW and my last pair in HS had 1400 miles on them when I stopped.
