How it ranks
The ASICS GEL-DS Trainer 19 trails most daily trainers in our data. Cushioning and looks are its strongest sub-ratings. The rating is based on 45 runner reviews and 8 other rated shoes in the GEL-DS Trainer product line.
Confidence
How settled the rating is against every other rated shoe. A shoe can rate high on confidence with relatively few reviews of its own when its product line has a long record and external ratings from retailer sites agree. Confidence is low when we have few ratings or when runners disagree.

96 Very high
Based on
The bars show roughly how much each source contributes to this shoe’s rating. Their influence depends on how many reviews we’ve collected, how many earlier versions are in the product line, and the external ratings available.
“The materials are a bit cheap, especially that cloth/fabric over the toes. Always wears out right around the big toe.”
“Fit my stride and body well. No injuries to speak of even when running high volume.”
“Cannot get more than 300 miles without having to replace them.”
“Has the advantage over other lightweight trainers of a real outer sole with traction.”
“Went through 6 or 7 pairs at 500 miles a pair.”
“It helped so much with the lower leg problems.”
“Lightweight but durable enough to handle the mileage I put in.”
“Flexible, light weight, cushion and stability at a reasonable price.”
“Running mostly on softer surfaces, which is ideal for this shoe. Try to avoid pavement in it.”
“Lets me feel my feet hitting the ground but still has enough support to keep me healthy.”
“An improvement over the 18, which had an upper that wore out fairly quickly.”
“I do not have knee problems when I wear this shoe.”
“The upper mesh on the left foot is beginning to tear.”
“Pleased by the trimmer fit of this model and the flat-feel.”
“Doesn't have the excessive cushion that many of the other shoes have now.”
“The upper is kind of meshy and has gotten a bit loose.”
“Breaks down quicker than some other shoes.”
“Does not feel like it fits my arch correctly.”
“Wears down a bit faster because of this.”
“The toebox is a bit narrow.”
