Overall

With 375-400 miles* they are far from worn out but I’ve had a chance to compare the Pace to the NB Zante (v1), my current favorite. Pace is a bit snappier, firmer and more durable. The outsole may be more efficient with its big, segmented tread blocks, but there is noticeably less grip in the wet. There is quite a bit more support structure in the upper, midsole, and the wide outsole but I don’t wear them tight enough to feel the overlays in the upper. I think the midsole sidewalls are a net positive. I prefer the feel of the Freshfoam in the Zante – it feels softer but more energetic. I prefer the outsole of the Pace for speed and durability, but it’s close because of the lack of wet grip and it is a bit noisier. I was leaning toward the Pace for an upcoming marathon until fairly recently when one insole began slipping back out of the heel on every run. Easily fixed but now I’m choosing Zantes for a winter race that often has a bit of rain. These are just great shoes for the way I run. I always feel happy to put them on. *I put a small, preemptive shot of shoe-goo on a high-wear hotspot of one outsole under my toe at ~275 miles.

A little heavy, but overall quite comfortable. I used to be a Kinvara fan, but the new Kinvara six doesn't fit my foot. The Vazee Pace has been a good replacement.

Overall

Lightweight trainer with enough cushioning to stand up well to long runs. I have been running in this shoe for intervals, tempo runs and long runs. I like the simplicity and light weight of this shoe and the feel of how this shoe pushes off the road, specifically compared to the Kinvara. The Vazee Pace has a good "sport" feel, for tempo runs and racing half marathon or longer.
