Pros

  • A 40mm heel stack with a carbon-infused plate, which one reviewer credits with correcting his overpronation after 500 miles in the previous version.

Cons

  • Durability draws 3.7 out of 5 across six reviewers, the lowest mark of any dimension.
  • One reviewer finds the toe box narrow and the shoe heavy, and at 11.0 oz in the men's build it sits in the heavy weight band.
  • Overall ratings average 3.8 out of 5, below every sub-rating except durability.

Overall

After putting about 500 miles on the Max5’s I got the Max6 and have really enjoyed them. I think the Hyperarc midsole technology paired with the carbon plate is what really makes these shoes perfect (for me at least). I’m naturally an overpronator, which in the past led to some pretty serious patellar tendonitis, but this tech seems to really correct my foot strike in a way that feels organic/natural. However, I do have issue with the narrow toe box and the weight. Both models I’ve tried had narrow toe boxes, which caused some discomfort (but not limiting) on the pinky toe. Also, the 6s have a bit more weight than the 5s and can feel slower at times. However, I’ve set multiple PRs in them, so again, not limiting.
