The Perfect Shoe

Overall

I was a ridiculously loyal Asics Kayano fan for more than 20 years and 17 marathons. I totally missed the bulletin that they went to a narrow, "European-style" width. Big toe problems forced me to make shoe changes. I read about Topo's and was willing to give them a chance with their wide toe box, since I had developed a bunion from wearing the Kayano's. The new Phantom gives me the additional cushioning that I felt the other Topo models were lacking. The wide toe box means that my toes are not scrunched, allowing my toes the needed flexibility for them to do their job. I run an average of 35 miles/week , all on the roads. Will be running marathon #21 in these shoes this fall.
