Overall

I have worn all iterations of this model going back to the original Glide, Supernova Glide, Supernova Glide Boost, Supernova, and now the Solar Glide. This particular model has some quirks that makes it disappointing. I'm guessing the changes made to the stretchy, flexible upper, which looks and feels great, messed up the sizing a bit, as these feel too big. Combined with the increased cushioning, they feel a bit unwieldy, floppy and smooshy. So, great for slow runs, but difficult when I want to run faster. I switch to my old 2015 pair of Ultra Boost for certain tempo runs and track workouts, but while they only have 200 miles logged, I probably need to retire them since midsoles will age out after a certain amount of time. The upper is best for summer, as it's so breathable that there is little water resistance, so even when it's not raining, if there's some dew around, my socks end up soaked near the ends. I currently have about 370 logged and they're holding up great, but I'm also eager to switch to my new pair of Solar Boost, which correct all the issues I've had with this shoe. While they are probably good for 450 miles, I'm retiring them as soon as I hit 400, or keep them at work as backups.

This shoe is very responsive and comfortable. Perfect for long miles while training. They also look great for meeting friends post run for a coffee, or just going grocery shopping.

Heavy but good on sale, for early summer miles

Anonymous runner · Jul 3, 2019

4/5

Overall

Cushioning is great, and the combo of Boost and EPA rails is very effective 3 weeks into use (Boost has a tendency to bottom-out quickly), so no complaints there. I think the biggest issues I have with this shoe are the weight (Boost is heavy, and the weight is noticeable at faster paces and late in runs) and it's breathability (especially on the tongue). I would not be happy with this shoe if I paid the retail price of $140, but I found it on sale for $100 which is about appropriate. Will probably move back to the Pegasus when workouts start later in the summer, but considering trying the Boston Boost as well. Would not want to go fast in this shoe.
