The adidas shoe that just kept going

Anonymous runner · Jan 29, 2020

Overall

Growing up in mid 2000s through about 2016 I always looked down on Adidas running products for some reason (at least their training shoes, there flats have always been well received). I heard good things when they released the boost foam but I was still hesitant to try them, it wasn't until 2018 when I bought my first pair. They took a little bit to break in, something I wasn't really used to with other running shoes however after about a week of steady miles they became a friend to my feet. Especially in the 19 model I found the upper much snugger and more natural feeling. And the boost foam and continental rubber sole are incredible, both for cushion and for durability. I have found that these shoes last me longer than other comparable shoes I've had like the Nike pegasus or Saucony Ride for example. I also find this shoe does great in multiple disciplines, great for a long run but I also can wear it for speedier sessions, it's a great mix of springy responsiveness and nice soft cushion. I am one of those runners who likes to try out different shoes all the time but I'm afraid to leave this one behind because it just works so well for me.

Out of the Box Winners

Overall

I've trained in Nike Pegasus for the past 5 years and just switched to the Solar Glides by Adidas and I must say this show is the first shoe I've warn out of the box with no need for heel cups, cutting part of the heel liner and so on. The durability of the shoes are great, I get about 300 miles out of a pair before I feel stiffness in the quads from the cushion running out. The upper is high quality and comfortable, and perhaps one of my favorite features to the shoe is the mesh heel on the upper which covers the Achilles is a locked in but soft and comfy way.

SolarGlide is a Solid Bargain

Anonymous runner · Jan 7, 2020

Overall

I have had three pairs of the Adidas SolarGlide shoes. For each pair of the shoe I have been able to purchase them for between $40-$70. On each shoe I have gotten 600-700 miles before they started to feel dead. Overall, very impressed with the comfort. The break in period is maybe 20 or so miles or maybe three runs. In the first couple runs, the ankle seemed to rub against the side of my foot, but not especially severely. I would recommend these shoes for every day reg runs or long runs because of the excellent cushion the layer of boost provides. There is a little too much shoe to do anything more than strides as far as speed work goes.

Adidas SolarGlide - Stellar ride, for a little

Anonymous runner · Aug 9, 2019

Overall

Love the shoe. It's achilles thing is comfy, it's light but cushioned, and the tongue design is A+. Not to mention, it looks like a shoe I would wear with my non-running friends without getting made fun of. The only problem is it's durability. The top mesh near my big toe rips way too soon!!!!!!! I understand that 300miles is the textbook expiration date, but I've always been able to get more out of Nike's. Every time I near the 300 a hole forms and I'm running with my big toe out. Good for lift? Uncomfy in the rain. Other than that, great product
