Lovely but Pricey

4/5

Overall

Very comfortable, good-looking shoe, but a little on the pricey side. Was fortunate enough to find huge discount online, 44% off. Great for jogging easy miles, but found I could put my foot down in them more than I could other jogging shoes like the NB Fresh Foam More as they're a bit bouncier. Have injury prone calves and found using these for slightly quicker tempo style efforts, and Fresh Foam More for easy runs worked well for me.

All Around Amazing

5/5

Overall

When I first saw the new Ultraboost 2019's, I was incredibly skeptical. I had a pair of the original Ultraboosts, and while they were definitely extremely comfy, I would never have run in them. I have always loved the Nike Pegasus's but the school I run for is an Adidas school, and my coach would always nag me about my shoes. I had some energy boosts, but they just didn't feel as good as the Pegs so I switched back. One day after practice I decided the see if I could find some cheap-ish Ultraboost 2019's so I hopped on StockX and bought some. My first impressions of the shoes were that they looked amazing, and the mesh upper was extremely comfy. My only hesitation was that they were quite heavy. The Pegs are already a heavier shoe, but these Ultraboosts were heavier. First run in the Ultraboosts was an easy 4 mile day, and I will say they did not feel super smooth. The next day, however, I had a 4 mile tempo + 4x400. The tempo was at 5:20 pace and the 400's were at 64. I wore the Ultraboosts for both, as I was 3 weeks off a stress reaction and didn't want to wear spikes, and they felt like a completely different shoe. Running fast in this shoe feels incredibly responsive and cushioned, while still feeling like you're wearing a lighter shoe. The majority of my runs have been on trails recently, and the mesh upper is surprisingly supportive. In the Nike Epic Reacts, I found that my foot would roll/slide around in the shoe due to the upper meshing not being as great, but in the Ultraboosts I haven't had any issues. I can corner, jump from one side of the trail to the other to avoid mud, take sharp bends, jump over obstacles, and basically anything else the trails can throw at me while still feeling secure in the shoes. Overall, these shoes are definitely not for everyone. Its really expensive and quite heavy. But for those that can afford the shoe, and don't mind the weight, this shoe will keep you constantly surprised with how well it performs in every single situation you throw at it.
