This is what I'm stuck with

4/5

Overall

I've tried to switch from my Asics GT-1000's a few times, when I get a new pair, the stitching or glue or something on the logo scratches the crap out of my instep and is very ucomfortable for the first 100 miles. Every time I try switching to a new shoe, I get injured. I'd rather have a scratchy instep than get injured so I'm sticking with the devil I know.

GT 1000's are a solid shoe, figuratively and literally

4/5

Overall

They are on the pretty stiff for the first 100/150 miles. They definitely take some getting used to if your used to lower drop trainers or rounded toe/heel shoes. If you are used to lighter shoes, these will feel clunky for the first week of use, but eventually it will feel smoother. Great value though once you get used to them. Generally less than $70 if you look hard enough and last between 700 and 1000 miles before you "feel the road" on your feet assuming you have 2 pairs and alternate days. Otherwise they last about 500- 600 miles.

Just as comfy, not as pretty, and maybe faster than its predecessor

5/5

Overall

Going from the GT-1000 6 to the 7 was a bit of a change, but in some ways I liked them, and in other ways am still nostalgic for my 6. The 6 has the classic ASICS look and feel, super light, comfy, a real runner's shoe. The 7s are like a futuristic robot version of the 6, not as practical and natural looking, but somehow still comfortable and hardly had to do any breaking in. At first, the 7s will have that "rocking forward" tendency, but they've already changed shape after about 200 miles. I love both, but they are definitely not the same shoes. Note** this was for the (D) size

Wish is had better durability

I loved everything about these shoes except their durability. Within the first 200 miles the shoes had already worn through the first layer of rubber on the toe. By 300 miles, the rubber had worn all the way through and my big toe had worn a hole through the upper.
