Best shoe for me

5/5

Overall

This is the first shoe I have loved since Hoka discontinued its Stinson Road shoe a few years ago. All the other shoes, Hoka or not, were either too stiff or too floppy. The Bondi 6 has the perfect cushioning for me, a 63-year-old, 155-pound runner who has been running for 45 years. I recognize that many others will find it too soft, but not me!

I love this shoe. I have a chronic foot issue that requires minimal toe flexion, and the stiffness of the Bondi (combined with my orthotics and taping) allowed me to run pain free for the first time in several years. They run a bit more naturally than the Bondi 5, but keep the same cushion, stability and stiffness of the 5.

Hoka One One Bondi 6 - Achilles issues

3/5

Overall

I got a pair of these to replace my prior Bondis. Almost from the beginning, I had achilles/ankle issues. I don't know exactly what the issue is, but it's similar to the ankle pain I had when my prior Bondis wore out. Something about what the shoe is doing to my foot strike? Regardless, it's shoe-specific, because switching to Saucony Ride Iso 2 for a couple days almost resolved the problem. I still love the Hokas generally, for comfort and shock absorption, but this particular model may be switching to lawn mowing duty.

Hoka One One Bondi 6 or The Softest Bricks You Can Wear

4/5

Overall

I have come back to running after a several year layoff and needed something that absorbed a bit of the pounding I put on my legs--my piriformis was acting up. I bought these on a whim and they are the biggest, thickest dorkiest looking shoes I have ever seen but they did the trick. I trained in them for 8 weeks towards a half marathon and my injuries recovered and nothing new popped up.
