Confidence

How settled the rating is against every other rated shoe. A shoe can rate high on confidence with relatively few reviews of its own when its product line has a long record and external ratings from retailer sites agree. Confidence will score low when we have few ratings or when runners disagree.

Pros

  • Cushioning averages 4.3 out of 5 across the ten reviewers so far, and three describe it as great or well padded in their own words.
  • Two reviewers set it against the Clifton 9: one finds it lighter and more responsive, the other more bulky but still snappy.

Cons

  • Value averages 3.6 out of 5 across the ten reviewers so far, the weakest of its categories.
  • One reviewer finds it stiff and awkward through the midfoot and now wears it only for walking.
  • It lists at $160, above the $150 median for daily trainers on sale, while its 8.9 oz weight and 39mm stack sit exactly on the category medians.

Great Looking Shoe, Totally Uncomfortable. Regret purchasing

1/5

Overall

Stiff in a say that does not feel helpful. Hugs my feet in weird places. Only use them for walking and when I go to put them on I feel reluctant. The b&w colorway looks fantastic. I am totally disappointed with this shoe.

Smokes the clifton

4/5

Overall

The clifton is a heavy, shoe, lets face it. It also is only cushioned for heavier runners. The skyflow is like the fit version of the clifton. It sheds weight and is considerably more responsive and comfortable. The shoe is well padded, the cushioning feels great and it has better lockdown, not quite as wide as the typical clifton, more like the average width for running shoes.

nice alternative to clifton 9 - more cushioning but similar ride

5/5

Overall

nice shoe that helped me with some knee tendinitis. I'm 56 and try to run around 30 miles a week but knee gets creaky if i push the mileage too much. the skyflow is a little more bulky than the clifton but still somewhat snappy and helped my knee pain go away. Good everyday trainer for an old guy like me still trying to get after it.
