Like wearing nothing at all

Overall

The Glycerins are super light-feeling for the amount of cushioning they provide. The only real downside (to me) is that my forefoot slides around a little.

Dependable and Cushioned Ride

5/5

Overall

I've been running in Brooks Glycerins for 5 years now. I had some injuries in other brands' shoes so I tried on nearly every shoe in a store and the Glycerins felt the best on my feet by a mile. I've been running healthy in Glycerins each year since. The only negatives are: * they are on the heavier side, so it's hard to feel super fast in a speed workout or shorter race * I recently increased my mileage from 15-20 to 30-40 and have had some blisters on the outside of each big toe and black toenails. I went back to the store and it looks like I'm in between 11.5 and 12 in size as 11.5 is too small and so I'm sliding a small amount up against the harder front upper in the 12, which adds up. A shop guide showed me how to lace using the top holes for a "runner's lock" and this has helped.

Smooshy long run shoe

5/5

Overall

The Glycerin is my current long run shoe. I really cannot feel a discernible difference between the 17 and the 16. The cushion is fantastic and yet ever so slightly snappy and I get a bit of energy return (as compared to other marshmallow shoes such as the Hoka Bondi that feel like quicksand). The upper is super stretchy and accommodates foot swelling after 15+ miles. This is not a speed shoe. However, this might be the first time I've liked a shoe enough to buy the subsequent model. If you're a bigger runner who needs extra cushion as the miles tick by I recommend this.

Honestly dude, it’s not as advertised as it is. Like maybe I am too light for such cushioned shoe. I am 5’9 130lbs and like this shoe felt just like the pegs but with more weight. Maybe it makes me feel better mentally because I am wearing a “cushioned” shoe.

The fit and comfort are pretty good, they wear fairly well, and there's nothing wrong with them, but I don't love them, either.
