4/5

Overall

I ran in supportive control shoes (Adidas and Brooks) for many years. Started to move to lighter shoes during college training and did barefoot drills. Ran in old flats after college (I was broke). Realized that my body could now handle the barefoot thing and that padding just breaks down, reducing the life of a shoe. Started shopping for minimal shoes and found the Trail Glove1, then the Trail Glove 2. Have used both extensively on mostly packed dirt trails near my house, do run on road with them. Have had some issues with landing on sharp gravel, but rarely an issue. Used to have achilles tendon issues on and off, have had none, since using these shoes. I do maintain sturdier and padded shoes for extended road runs and rough trail runs. Overall this shoe is great, it just wears out on the side fabric above the sole quickly and is pricey for the amount of material that goes into it.
