Not durable

Overall

Used these for one outdoor season, and part of an indoor the next year, they were spiked in the back and had a few small holes, but totally ripped on me during a workout a few days later, I liked them when they worked but because they fell apart I can't say they are durable or the gold standard in track spikes

New Balance MD800v5 - A great pair of middle distance spikes

TrackXC27 · Jul 14, 2018

5/5

Overall

I used the New Balance MD800v5s for racing on track for 800m and 1600m. I ordered my normal running shoe size and straight out of the box the spikes were a little too tight, but after running in them they broke in and fit my feet perfectly. My only complaint with these spikes is that you have to tie them really tight and even when you do it feels like they might slip, but they won't. While racing in them I didn't have any discomforts and I felt faster while running. I recommend buying steel spikes to replace the spikes included because I think the spikes included are omni-lite spikes which are lightweight but they wear down really easily. Steel Spikes basically last forever and I feel that the steel spikes give me better traction. If you want a great pair of middle distance spikes then I recommenced the new balance md800 v5s for you.
