How settled the rating is against every other rated shoe. A shoe can rate high on confidence with relatively few reviews of its own when its product line has a long record and external ratings from retailer sites agree. Confidence will score low when we have few ratings or when runners disagree.

Overall

I ran with some minimus shoes for awhile and when they stopped production, I searched for something to replace them. These do an adequate job. Very comfortable fit.

Freaky Flyknits

5/5

Overall

I've been running in different lightweight Nikes for years.  I wasn't sure about the no-lace Flyknit at first; thought they would loosen over time (but I found them for a really good price).  I have been pleasantly surprised how well these shoes are holding up.  They are still as comfortable as the first day, I currently have 227 miles on them.

I really only use them for track and treadmill running, which they are perfect for.  They are lightweight, but they are also thin.  You will feel every rock on the road.  I typically run about 2-4 mile workouts with these shoes.

Nike Free RN Flyknit 3.0 - minimalist but not dangerously so

Overall

I just like because they are minimalist but rugged enough to handle gravel and the occasional rough debris.
