Nike Vomero Plus

4/5

Overall

When I first got this shoe I was not a big fan. I got this shoe because I needed something for easy runs that would actually help me feel recovered. My first few runs wearing these, the shoe felt very stiff and it was hard to go any faster than a super slow recovery slog in them. However, as I let myself wear these shoes in, I've grown to really like them. The shoe has softened up a bit, so they no longer feel as stiff, and now that the cushion is broken in more, it's easier to pick it up a little bit in them. Overall, this shoe is very good for your daily runs, and is an excellent option for very easy days. However, they definitely do need a bit of time to be broken in.

Do it all, Max Cushion Trainer

5/5

Overall

The Vomero Plus is Nike's mashup of the Vomero line and the discontinued Invincible. More cushioned than the Vomero 18 but not as bulky as the Vomero Premium, I thought that the Vomero Plus was a good goldilocks between the two. The Vomero Premium is certainly a good option if you love the moon boots style of daily trainer, but with how bulky and heavy it is, the paces it can handle comfortably are fairly limited. The Vomero 18 is a lot more down to earth than the Premium, and I felt that it was not as cushioned as I would like, especially when pushed past 400 miles. The energy return was also lacking and would lean flat as miles accumulated. All that to be said, the Vomero Plus had the best of both worlds. Enough cushion that the pavement was never punishing, and also enough energy return that miles at threshold (5:05 for me) and recovery day (7:15s) all felt great. Never felt like it was made for slow or fast miles, just all of the above. I've had 9 pairs (90-100mpw) and have taken all to 500 miles and felt that they could've certainly handled another 200+ if not pushing towards the 800-900 mile mark. The shoe could cost $200 and I would be willing to pay that, but I've seen it as low as $120 with sales as the new Vomero gets ready to drop and the Vomero Premium is more in stock than before.

Vomero Plus: The best Max Cushion Trainer on the Market.

4/5

Overall

Amazing step in feel. Cushioning hasn't lost its bounce after a 150ish miles ran. My go to shoe for all doubles, recovery runs, and long runs. Amazing for any time your legs are feeling a little beat. II have run faster efforts in it but would not choose it for any workouts. Massive improvement on the stability issues found in the Invincible shoe line.
