Good stuff

Had knee issues for years. Running store (Marx in Acton, Mass) suggested these. Eight months and no knee pain later, I’m sold. Just wish they were not so....greeb

361 Degrees Sensation 2

Overall

The Sensation 2 is a very rigid shoe out of the box. It takes a couple weeks and even a month to break them in but after that it's a super comfortable shoe. The only reason comfort and cushioning is not at an 8-9 is because it takes forever to break in (considering I'm 5'2" 108 lb). CONS: Breaking it in is a huge pain, let me tell you. For me personally, I got rubbing all over the place and to this day I still have scars where the rubbing was real bad. You might want to wear socks just above the ankle to protect from the rubbing on the back of the heel and around the top tongue area. I also got many blisters under the ball of my foot the first couple of weeks mainly adapting to the stiffer interior side with the plastic shank. For me, all these issues aren't worth a $120 shoe. PROS: The shoes are very supportive. I do heavily overpronate but I've had no problems with injury with these shoes. All the wear in the sole of the shoe is right along the middle of the sole, right where it should be. I also really like the stiff heel cup. I feel that it adds to that element of stability in the shoe. After the first painful weeks of breaking them in, the shoes are super nice and comfy. It's the right amount of cushion and responsiveness that I love. The shoe is more on the responsive side, you can really feel the rebound in the material with each step. The shoes look pretty nice in the color way that I received them in. Cool design overall Last Thoughts: It sucks to break in but a pretty nice shoe if you can get over the first couple weeks. Most of the ratings should be much higher but that break-in period really lost it for me.

All-around solid workhorse shoe

Overall

Every time I pick up the Sensation 2, it's surprisingly heavy. But that's just because it floats so well on the run, that it runs like a much lighter shoe. It has that perfect (for me) blend of responsive-yet-cushioned, and has just a touch of medial support that I need. 361's shoes are often compared to ASICS's (for good reason), but I find this guy a bit more runable than the comparative GT-2000 (which I do also really like). It feels just a touch springy-er on the run than it's ASICS counterpart. Bonus is that it comes in wide, and extra bonus is that the wide is NOT a boring color! You don't know how nice that is for us hobbit-footed folks!
