Excellent Cushioning

Anonymous runner · Feb 6, 2018

5/5

Overall

The Ultra Boost material provides soft cushioning with a great bouncy feeling. The upper felt great and was extremely durable. However, the outsole is a little thin and wears away faster than traditional running shoes.

Overall

The shoe has been the bulk of my training over the last three seasons of Track/XC. I've gone through 4 pairs in the last 18 months running, which is about 3500 miles between the four pairs of shoes. I have gone through the different uppers of the shoe and found that the "reveal" upper to be the best with the smallest amount rubbing with my foot. The shoes boost midsole is just the best midsole on the market right now as it seems it can last forever. The only part of the shoes that seems to wear down quickly for me is the thin continental outsole that wears down when running a lot of miles on the road.

Overall

Was used to running in relatively light, neutral shoes (NB Zante and Adidas Adios) for all my training but had some lingering hip issues so opted to try a bit 'heavier' more stable shoe. The Energy Boost is a tad chunky and heavier than what I was used to but was great for longer runs and easy runs. I felt more supported and stabilized in the shoe and its durability was apparent. Still use this for easy shorter and medium distance runs. It's not the prettiest shoe nor is it designed for performance but it serves an important purpose and is effective in that.

Overall

The Energy Boost has the most comfortable upper ever. No hot spots. Leave the laces a little looser than normal. Nice soft strike. The only reason I didn't buy my 3rd paid was because all the store had in my size was a pink/salmon pair.

Great responsiveness coupled with cushion. Unusual and unlike any other trainer I've used. Really preferred the first version but the EB2 is really really good.
