Saucony Triumph ISO 2: a triumph of shoe engineering

Anonymous runner · Aug 12, 2019

5/5

Overall

Excellent cushion, but not in a mushy way. Great durability, especially on the outersole. The upper is designed so well, you don't even realize it is there. This is my favorite shoe since the Asics-Tiger Cumulus 9 and the Epirus.

Saucony Iso Triumph 2

Overall

Fit in the Iso Triumph shoe is good. Very comfortable for recovery/long runs with cushioning, without feeling like you're running on heels (found New Balance Fresh Foam like this) and without the "stability" (inflexibility) of an Asics Gel Nimbus. The fit on the Iso Triumph 3 is a little more snug for some reason. Find they wear out quite quickly at the top of the tow box/around the sides - in about 2-3 months at 70-80mpw. Can get last years version for £50-80, which makes it very good value.

Overall

The shoe was comfortable but not flexible. I found the fit around my ankle to be loose. After I tied it extra tight I still had extra room. This may have contributed to my injury-Achilles Tendonitis. The shoe looks good but doesn't perform as well as I was hoping for, especially at the higher price.

Overall

With the previous model, the insoles would slide out after 10 miles during the summer. Sweat would make them wet enough they would move around. Haven't had that issue on this version, but it has also been over the window.
