Great for going slow

Overall

The Adidas SolarGlide ST is the ideal shoe for those post-workout recovery runs where the pace feels just above walking. It’s perfect for a nice Saturday shuffle, between the hard Friday track session and the up-tempo Sunday long run. It is not, however, made for smooth cruising at a relatively brisk pace. Anything faster than a jog feels clonky in these shoes. Maybe that’s not a word, but you get it. Forget about post-run strides or an easy workout in this shoe. On the bright side, it will last 500+ miles without losing any assets! A truly well-built shoe, er, brick.

Very good overall trainer. Though it is heavy and a little expensive.

Overall

This was my first experience with a Boost running shoe and I have truly enjoyed it. Upper: - Very soft mesh that is comfortable. It is a little warm for hot summer runs and seems to hold water more than others - Heel counter cut out is great, I have felt no pressure on my achillies - Tongue is nicely padded Ride/Midsole: - I had no experience with Boost until this shoe but it is great - The Boost/EVA combo gives a plush ride with a reasonable amount of energy return - The shoes is way too heavy for short races or speed work but for recovery and long runs the ride is great - The guide rails on the sides can be a bit obtrusive to get used to but do seem to stabilize the foot well without feeling a hard medial post. After 20 miles or so I did not notice the guide rails anymore. Outsole: - This is the downside to me. The continental rubber wears down pretty quickly - I have about 275 miles on my pair and have not worn through the rubber but it is awfully close in places. - Traction is not bad even when worn down but I wouldn't say it is great either. Price: - $140 at the time of this review - While not outrageous when compared to the market it seems high for a shoe that has largely been the same for a couple of years.

Not convinced they’re good for me.

Overall

Having bought the same road running shoes for years after an initial fitting at a specialist store, I decided it was time to return and get properly fitted there again, just in case my running style had evolved. It hadn’t really, but I took the opportunity to switch my ASICS which I loved for this Adidas pair, mainly as they were on offer and I quite liked the look of them. The first few times I wore them I just did short distances - no more than 5 miles. But I noticed that I was getting pains in my arch and along the top of my foot if I tried running any further with them. I’m usually an off road runner and wear Brooks for that, but I’m afraid that these Adidas shoes are not exactly encouraging me to clock up more road miles.

Best Adidas stability shoe to date

Overall

The Boost era continues. Nothing like it when it comes to the combination of durability, cushion, and responsiveness. Like the rest of the Solar series, there's a generous amount of it underfoot. Far less bulky than the Supernova ST, the Solar Glide ST has a superior fit with a wider toe box and engineered mesh upper that moves with the foot in ways that the old models couldn't. The heel counter echoes what we see out of Ultra Boost - leaves nothing but fabric over the achilles. Makes for a comfier fit but I've found the durability of the material on the inside there to be terrible. After 80-something miles, it's almost shredded. The biggest downside to an otherwise great stability update by Adidas. Would recommend for those that like more a cushioned shoe without a stability post (they use "Energized Boost" on the medial side instead) and like a sleek fit.
