Fantastic everyday trainer, especially for building necessary foot strength. It does not perform well at higher speeds though.

I have had four pairs of these shoes and I currently have over 600 miles on the one I am using and it still feels great. Not much cushion but feels great on the ground.

The Altra Escalante 3 combines everything people love in a shoe. It's comfortable, sharp looking, and maybe best of all amazing value at the price. This shoe also does not disappoint with durability. At around 150 pounds, after 235 miles, there is only one spot a bit worn down because of an imperfection in my stride. The colors are also decent, but not the best out there. As a person who puts in 60+ mile weeks and does hard, demanding speed work, I use this shoe for everything. After wearing 15+ shoes and 5+ brands in the past 2 years, this is the best all around shoe tried between all of them. Also, the added bonus of zero drop and natural foot shape, along with the low profile, gives me added peace of mind making sure I stay injury free. Overall, this shoe is a great next pick for a daily trainer.
